The American Legion Post 237 scholarship is designed to reduce college application costs for eligible students. 
 
WHO 
Children of American Veterans from Pleasanton, Dublin, or San Ramon who are currently applying to college.

Post 237 will reimburse the first year’s membership fee for any parent(s) who are members of the U.S. military family (active, separated, or retired, including Guard and Reserve) and are not yet Legion members.
 
WHAT
 Each scholarship provides up to $500 to defray the cost of college applications and associated standardized tests (SAT/ACT).
 
WHEN
 Scholarship must be requested in the same calendar year as the incurred expense(s).

One of the American Legion's core value principles is "Family and Community Engagement." That is why here at Pleasanton Post 237, we believe we must help meet the unique needs of our community. We want to do that by offering to pay for college application fees and standardized testing fees for the children of American Veterans who live in Pleasanton, Dublin, or San Ramon.  Of course, other areas can reach out to their local Post, but these are the cities Post 237 serves directly.
